Derek Miller
Information Technology Director
Derek joined CCAO in 2014. He has experience in IT department management, systems and network engineering, and desktop support. He enjoys facilitating communication and relationships through technology, and is excited to join CCAO. He and his family enjoy exploring the Rocky Mountains together.
Katie Shafenberg
Executive Assistant
Katie joined CCAO in 2016 with a background in business. She is passionate about making sure our patients receive excellent service at CCAO. On the weekends you can find her spending time with her husband and dog, doing photography, or going to brunch with friends.
Mackenzie Hellwig
Business Services Lead
Mackenzie is a South Dakota native who joined the CCAO team in 2021. She attended the University of South Dakota where she obtained her Bachelor’s in Health Administration. In 2020, she completed her Masters of Business Administration with a specialization in operations and supply chain management. Utilizing her extensive hospitality experience, Mackenzie takes pride in ensuring that the business operations enhance the exemplary care provided to our patients.
April Rarick
Patient Services Lead
April joined CCAO in 2017 offering a background in leadership, finance, and working with at risk teenagers. She is passionate about equipping the patient services team with the skills they need to provide top tier patient care. Outside of work, she enjoys backpacking, hiking, fishing and camping in the beautiful Colorado mountains.
Denise Qualls
Director of Operations
Denise’s years of experience, both as the mother of four children and in the business world, helped to prepare her to join with Dr. Perkins in 1998 when he opened CCAO. She has been an integral part of this practice since the beginning, and both patients and employees of CCAO appreciate her willingness to do whatever is necessary to facilitate superior patient care.
