Frequently Asked Questions
Some insurance companies require a referral from a primary care provider (PCP). We work closely with our patients’ PCPs to integrate our treatment with the patient’s overall healthcare. If you think a Rheumatology consultation would be helpful for your symptoms or concerns, please discuss this with your PCP. If you do not need a referral from your PCP, you can call our office to schedule your first appointment.
Please respect the time of your provider and other patients by calling us as soon as possible if it becomes necessary to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This gives us the opportunity to offer the time to another patient.
We know that your time is valuable and will make every effort to see you at your scheduled appointment time. Our top priority, however, is always the health of our patients. On occasion, unanticipated urgent medical needs of other patients may cause us to run behind for your appointment. Rest assured that we will always take the time to give you the high quality, thorough and personalized medical care that you deserve. If we are running late and you are not able to wait, we will be happy to reschedule your appointment.
If you are taking prescription medications, understand that we will be monitoring them carefully in order to ensure you are using them safely. To ensure you don’t miss a dose, please call in your prescription refill requests one week before the medication is needed, either by calling your pharmacy or contacting us directly. If you call the request in directly, please include patient name and phone number, drug name and dosage, and pharmacy name and telephone number.
CCAO is considered in-network for most commercial insurers. Additionally, we see patients insured with Medicare, Tricare, and Medicaid. Patient’s medical claims are sent to both primary and secondary insurances as applicable. Coverage for services rendered varies by insurance plan. If you have any questions regarding your individual coverage, please reach out to our billing department.
We work with a variety of programs that provide financial assistance, so there may be options for you if cost is an issue. For additional information on available programs, please contact our Patient Assistance Coordinator. If you are unable to pay a medical bill due to financial hardship, payment plans are available. Please contact our billing department to set up a payment plan.
